Originating from Dokkum, made by the silversmith Jippe Klases Smedema (Foot 385) given the master hallmark with the hammer. This blacksmith worked from 1781 to 1790. The stem depicts a female figure with a stick and a book, which represents trust. The stick was a symbol of the earthly pilgrimage and the book represents wisdom.
